The Story Behind the Name

Custom Interiors, Inc. was founded in 1997 by Andy Walsh, a craftsman who built the business into a trusted name in hardwood floors and fine carpentry over nearly three decades. When Andy stepped back in 2020, we took the reins and continued to build a reputation based on high quality work and a commitment to our community.

At the end of 2025, Custom Interiors closed its doors after nearly 30 years of serving this community. But we aren't done — not even close. We wanted to expand our offerings and offer a more personalized service for our customers, so Wescustogo Property Works was born.

Wescustago Property Works, LLC is our new chapter: a broader, more personal operation that brings together everything we know how to do, with the land and people we love most.

Wescustago is the Abenaki name for this region — the ancient territory that became North Yarmouth, Cumberland, Yarmouth, and the surrounding towns. We chose this name because we're not a company from away. We live here, we farm here (Blue Fire Farm, for those who know us), and we care about this place the way you do.

When you hire us, you're supporting your neighbors, not some large corporation. That's a transaction we take seriously.

Mark Lescault

Mark has over 17 years of hands-on experience in carpentry and hardwood flooring installation, has his CDL certification, and has been a machine operator for over 25 years. He's the kind of craftsman who notices the grain of the wood and plans the layout before he ever picks up a tool. Outside of work, Mark runs Blue Fire Farm in North Yarmouth with Sarah and their daughter Adeline — which also means he knows his way around a tractor and isn't afraid of a project that starts outdoors and ends in the kitchen.

Mark handles hardwood installation, floor refinishing, staircase work, trim carpentry, small excavation, and anything that involves heavy equipment or a miter saw.

Sarah Lescault

Sarah grew up in the business — literally. She spent her formative years handing tools to her father Andy on floor and staircase installations, working at Fat Andy's lumber mill, and absorbing the craft from the ground up. She went on to earn a degree in fine arts from the University of Southern Maine and spent eight years as a certified professional dog trainer at PupStart before rejoining the family trade at Custom Interiors, Inc.

That combination — an eye for aesthetics, hands-on experience since childhood, and the patience that comes from training dogs for a living — makes Sarah exceptionally good at the parts of home work that require both precision and a human touch. She handles painting, drywall, cleaning, garden builds, flooring installation, and invasive plant management, and she's the one you'll probably talk to first.
